William Salinas-Crosby is a dynamic artist-performer based in Toronto, Canada. Praised for his musical sensitivity and shimmering timbre, he is quickly establishing himself as a versatile opera and concert performer with an expansive repertoire of art song, early music, and contemporary works across diverse cultures and languages.
Season highlights include solo performances in Misa Criolla (Ramírez) with Pax Christi Chorale and Rejoice in the Lamb (Britten) with the Orpheus Choir of Toronto. Other notable engagements include his soloist debut in Carmina Burana (Orff) at the Stratford Summer Music Festival and The Atonement (Samuel Coleridge-Taylor) with the Orpheus Choir; Utrecht Te Deum (Handel) with the UofT Schola Cantorum, Dixit Dominus (Handel), and Christ lag in Todes Banden, BWV 4 (Bach) with Toronto Consort and Theatre of Early Music at the Ottawa Music & Beyond Festival; recital appearances at the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre, Canadian Music Centre, and l’Église Saint-Prix de Noizay (France) with the France-Canada Academy of Vocal Arts (FCAVA); and Missa Afro-Brasileira (Fonseca) with The Nathaniel Dett Chorale at Koerner Hall as part of 2024 Luminato Festival.
As an active recitalist and champion of art song, William is especially committed to Iberian and Latin American repertoire, reflecting his cultural heritage. He has refined his craft through studies at the University of Toronto, l’Académie Francis Poulenc, the Art of Song Fellowship at the Toronto Summer Music Festival, as well as masterclasses with esteemed international artists including Paul Agnew and François Le Roux. He is delighted to be joining the Toronto Bach Festival for the first time.
