Cristina Zacharias

Canadian violinist Cristina Zacharias grew up in southern Manitoba, where she began her violin studies at the age of 5. She went on to study at the University of Manitoba and McGill University, where she dived into the world of historically informed performance and earned a Master's Degree in Chamber Music Performance. Now based in Toronto, Cristina is an Artistic Co-Director of Tafelmusik, with whom she has performed extensively across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia for over 20 years.

A frequent collaborator, guest soloist and director with a diverse group of ensembles, Cristina has been part of the Carmel Bach Festival since 2006 and can be seen and heard on dozens of recordings and concert films. As an educator Cristina is active in Tafelmusik's training institutes as well as at the University of Toronto.
